Brian and Yvette Pearse are the founders of K & J Foundation. They met in Rochester New York at Rochester Institute of Technology in 1981 when Brian was attending RIT studying Photographic Marketing. In June of 1985 they married in Brooklyn New York. Brian had by then joined the United States Air Force and was stationed in Germany. Brian served 20 years in the military and was working in the weather field.
Yvette had the best job-being a stay at home mom. She sacrificed a lot to be at home for Kiara and Jameel. Yvette has worked in the social service field helping members of the community through various positions. Currently Yvette is employed at the Department of Human Services as a clerk. Brian is retired from the military. He is Youth Minister at First Missionary Baptist Church in Gulfport and is a part time professional photographer.
Both Yvette and Brian work diligently overseeing the operations of the K & J Foundation. The Foundation has received both state and national recognition for its efforts to bring awareness to occupant protection and the necessity of wearing seat belts. Brian and Yvette will go anywhere and tell their story. They educate to help save lives and prevent injuries. They are working to improve seat belt laws in the state of Mississippi. Their goal is to increase seat belt use in the state and make the roadways safer. Their greatest gifts, Kiara and Jameel are also their greatest lost. They were gone to soon, but never forgotten. Brian and Yvette’s contributions are given to honor their children.
